BIKING SAFETY GUIDE

Important Rule

Always wear your helmet during the biking trip.

Always make sure you wear a helmet which fits your head firmly but comfortably.

Brakes- Test the front and rear brakes as soon as you get on the bicycle.

Footwear- Wear proper sport shoes. DO NOT wear slipers, flip-flops or shoes with heels.

Bags-Bring only handphone and RM10-RM20 only

Negotiating Hills- Decending at hig speed may be fun BUT the bottom of the hill might be sandy.

Shifting Gears- Never move the shifter while pedaling backward,not pedal backwards immediately after having moved the shifter.

Pre-ordering bicycles & additional items does not guarantee that

stocks will be available.

Bicycles will be charged from the start of the reservation period.

The hirer is responsible for the safe return of the bicycle at the end

of the rental period. Failure to return the bicycle may result in additional

hire charges being levied.

All bicycles are ridden at your own risk.

The hirer is at all times personally liable for any accident that they

may cause or damage to people or property.

Please ensure that all members of your party know how to use the brakes

correctly.

Name tags should always remain on the bike. This helps both you and us to

identify the correct bikes. We recommend the use of bicycle locks, which are

provided .

KEEP TO THE LEFT. Please be aware that pedestrians always have right of way.

We reserve the right to repossess any bicycle, at any time during the period, if these conditions are not adhered to.

SAIDIN Oleh ROKIAH ABDULLAH IPOH 30 Jun - Tourism Malaysia hari ini memperkenalkan 11 Pakej Berbasikal Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia 'Perak Bike Ride' sebagai satu tarikan baru kepada pelancong yang berkunjung ke negeri ini.Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Azizan Noordin berkata, 10,000 risalah mengenai pakej itu akan diedarkan di semua 22 pusat penerangan pelancongan seluruh negara dan 44 pejabat Tourism Malaysia di luar negara. Tambah Azizan, pakej itu yang melibatkan tujuh agensi pelancongan dari negeri ini akan turut dipromosikan sempena pameran-pameran pelancongan yang disertai Tourism Malaysia."Konsep pelancongan berbasikal sudah menjadi trend pelancongan terkini yang menjadi minat pelancong terutamanya dari negara-negara maju. Justeru kita sedang giat mengatur usaha untuk membentuk pakej-pakej berbasikal di setiap negeri."Dengan pakej istimewa serendah RM87, RM150 hingga RM408, pelancong dapat melihat keindahan bandar Ipoh, Pulau Pangkor dan Gopeng," katanya ketika berucap pada majlis pelancaran pakej tersebut yang disempurnakan Setiausaha Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI), Datuk Abdul Rahim Ariff, di sini hari ini.Turut hadir, Pengarah Tourism Perak, Norshamshida Abdul Rahman; Timbalan Ketua Polis (Pentadbiran) Daerah Ipoh, Supritendan Ahmad Termizi Abdul Haq dan Presiden KRI Cycling Team, Chong Him Shoong.Bagi menggalakkan aktiviti pelancongan berbasikal, Azizan menyarankan MBI mewujudkan prasarana yang sesuai bagi aktiviti itu seperti laluan berbasikal, tempat meletak basikal dan akses berbasikal yang sempurna demi keselesaan pelancong.Pakej berbasikal itu dikendalikan Tourism Malaysia dengan kerjasama KRI Cycling Team yang bertanggungjawab menentukan laluan-laluan sesuai untuk aktiviti berbasikal. Ipoh – Mengikut Rancangan Tempatan Ipoh 2020, bandaraya Ipoh akan lebih dikenali sebagai destinasi pelancongan beserta produk yang berkualiti, maju dan berdaya saing bagi mempelbagaikan sumber ekonomi.Setiausaha Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI), Datuk Abdul Rahim Md Ariff berkata terdapat tiga peringkat pembangunan jejak warisan sejarah telah dirancang bagi merealisasikan sektor pelancongan di bandaraya Ipoh menjelang tahun 2020. “ Antara tiga cadangan peringkat pembagunan ini ialah memperkemaskan lagi lokasi Jejak Warisan Timah 2.5km , Jejak Warisan Kota Lama 4km dan Jejak Warisan Kota Timah 14km.“MBI sememangnya memberi fokus untuk menjana dan memperkukuhkan asas ekonomi bandaraya melalui aktiviti yang berpotensi dan berdaya saing dalam sektor perniagaan, perindustrian, pelancongan dan pertanian ”, katanya pada ucapan Majlis Pelancaran Pakej Berbasikal Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia – “Perak Bike Ride”di Taman D.R. Seenivasagam kelmarin.Sementara itu menurut Abdul Rahim Pelancaran Pakej Berbasikal Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia – “Perak Bike Ride” merupakan penerbitan risalah yang bertujuan menentukan laluan-laluan yang sesuai untuk aktiviti berbasikal oleh pelancong.Sebanyak 11 pakej-pakej menarik untuk percutian berbasikal di negeri Perak telah ditawarkan didalam risalah tersebut yang melibatkan tujuh agensi pelancongan Perak.“Seperti mana yang difahamkan, sebanyak 10,000 naskah akan diedarkan ke semua 22 buah Pusat Penerangan Pelancongan Tourism Malaysia di seluruh Malaysia dan pejabat Tourism Malaysia negara seperti Singapura.
